Searching for what's wrong?

Have you ever found yourself in the midst of a new experience and rather than enjoy the excitement of newness, you’re spending your time waiting for the other shoe to drop or searching for what’s wrong? I’ve discovered that this response can have several roots:

  1. You’re searching for what’s wrong out of fear that what you’re experiencing is too good to be true.

  2. This new experience is so far out of your comfort zone and you’re resisting it rather than receiving it.

  3. Perhaps you don’t really believe that what you want and have prayed for is actually available to you or possible for you. (more on that next week)

It’s possible that there are many more reasons and your reasons may be specific to your particular situation. The important thing is to not sabotage a good thing, a prayed for thing, out of fear.
